Tracks 1,2,3,4,6,7 are live versions of songs that first appeared in studio versions on Nino Rojo [Sept 2004]. Tracks 8,9 and 11 are live versions of songs that are on Rejoicing In The Hands Of The Golden Empress [May 2004]. We have not been able to find where In Empress Hands first appeared on.

What does he sound like? Devendra Banhart has long, striking black hair, an impish smile and a voice that recalls Marc Bolan during his time in Tyrannosaurus Rex, 1968. Even his album titles recall Bolan's My People Were Fair and Had Sky in Their Hair but Now They're Content To Wear Stars in Their Brows in its Tolkein style. Banhart uses his voice to great effect. His breathy voice is quivery during dreamy moments and alternates between a purr and a growl much like Bolan's elfish mannerisms. Also current Banhart material are strikingly like early T Rex, acoustic with simple percussion.
