The Multicoloured Shades from Recklinghausen area, Germany were a quite popular Psychedelic band in the 1980´s. They mixed their sound with contemporary independent Rock and profit from the 80s Psychedelic Rock revival.

The band was launched in 1984. The typical element of their music was the"exessive"use of the organ. The first two records, a 6-track mini album under the title "The Multicoloured Shades" and the LP "House Of Wax" were released on the independent label "Last Chance" in Dortmund. The third record "Sundome City Exit" was released in 1987 by Virgin Records. This record included the song "Teen Sex transfusion", which was released as a single and became a hit. After the moderate success of their follow-LP "Ranchero!" the band disbanded in 1990. During a Re-Union of the band in early 2002 a compilation CD appeared. On 8th of april 2002 the singer Pete Barany died by a suicide. After this tragic situation the band finally separated....
